The Firm’s principal, SCOTT N. GELFAND, is a trial and courtroom specialist, licensed in both Florida and New York. Mr. Gelfand has tried cases in state court, federal court, and arbitration tribunals throughout the United States. His practice includes all aspects of litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, focusing primarily on business litigation, with particular specialties in mold litigation and real estate litigation. His practice also includes other types of litigation such as professional sports litigation, professional malpractice, defamation and other intentional torts, class actions, telecommunications, antitrust, and other complex commercial litigation. One particular specialty is emergency action litigation, including injunctions and all provisional and expedited remedies. Mr. Gelfand’s cases have been routinely followed on television and in the print media, his writings have been published in national law journals, and many cases have resulted in reported decisions throughout the United States.

Mr. Gelfand is licensed to practice in many courts throughout the country including the United States District Courts of Appeal for the Second, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and all state courts throughout Florida and New York.

Before relocating to South Florida in 2001, Mr. Gelfand’s litigation practice was based in midtown Manhattan for more than a decade. This New York-based background, he believes, is what provides the competitive edge which has been integral to the success of Mr. Gelfand’s legal practice.

A graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law in New York City (where he was senior editor of the Cardozo Law Review), Mr. Gelfand now resides in Parkland, Florida with his wife and children.

We view each case not only from a legal but from a business perspective, ensuring that the resolution of each case makes practical business sense.
